NEWS AND NOTES: RHP Chance Chapman (6-5, 2.74) has emerged as a key factor for the BlueClaws over the past two months, going 5-2 with a 2.83 ERA in his last 10 appearances. Chapman is ninth among the SAL ERA leaders and has made 16 starts. An eighth-round pick by the Phils and native of San Luis Obispo, Calif., Chapman played at Oral Roberts University and was 5-3 with a 2.09 ERA with Williamsport last season, earning Mid-Season New York-Penn League All-Star recognition. At 6-foot-4, 210 pounds, he has good size and appears to be finding a groove in the SAL as the BlueClaws stay in contention for a playoff berth. ... The BlueClaws and Phillies extended their Player Development Contract two seasons through 2010.
